Research Interests:

Kang Yong joined Huazhon gUniversity of Science and Technolog(HUST)since1994.He was the Associate Director and the Director in Department of Power Electronics Application in 1996 and 2002 respectively. He was an Associate Dean in School of Electrica land Electronic Engineering from 2006 to  2008, andistheDeanofSchoolofElectricalandElectronicEngineeringsince2008.

His research interest focuses on power electronic converters,ACdrives,renewable energy generation,power electronics applications in electric power systems,and theirdigital control techniques.He has undertaken over 100r esearch projects funded by Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC),research institutes,and industrial partner programs,and has gained 8 times of state and ministry science and technology progress awards.He is the author and co author of more than 200 publications in journals and proceedings ,which includes about 30 papers published in IEEE transactions in recent ten years. He also holds 20 national invention patents authorized in China.He is a co-author of Power Electronics text book published in 2011,and of a graduated text book published in 2013.

He is an associat esecretary-general of the UPS technical committee of national power electronics and ardization committee since May 2008,and was elected toavice president of the council of Hubei Electro Magnetic Compatibility Institute in July 2008.He became as enior member of China Electro technical Society(CES)in Nov.2008.Now he is an executive member of CES board and avicedirector-general of China Powe rElectronic Society CouncilofCES.He is presently an Associate Editor of Journal of Power Electronics.
