Research Interests:

Zhang Kai is a Full Professor at Department of Applied Electronic Engineering,SchoolofElectricalandElectronicEngineering(CEEE),HuazhongUniversityofScienceandTechnology(HUST),Wuhan,China.

He joined HUST as an Assistant Professor in 1996 right after getting his M.E.(MasterofEngineering)degree,and was promoted to an Associate Professor in 2001.He was a Visiting Scholar at Sustainable Power Research Group,University of New Brunswick(UNB),Canada,during2004-2005.Thereheparticipatedinaresearchprojectonmicro-gas-turbinepowergenerationsystemledbyProf.LiuchenChang(also the leader of SPRG).He was promoted to a Full Professor at HUST in 2006.In 2011,he completed an R&D projecton high power railway traction drive together with Assoc.Prof.Xiong Jian from the same department.The 4*1200 kWt raction drive was successfully put in to commercial operation in the same year.His research interests include UPS,railway traction drives,modular multilevel converters and EMC techniques for power electronic systems.He is an author of over 50 technical papers.
