Overview

Research Overview

The school features strong electromagnetic engineering, relying on great devices, great platforms, and great teams, and has formed disciplines with features and advantages in power system automation, motors and controls, power electronics, high-voltage technology, electrical theory and new technologies. Through the cross-convergence of different disciplines, the school has gradually expanded the direction of emerging disciplines such as accelerators and their applications, pulsed power, pulsed magnetic fields, magnetic confinement fusion, plasma medicine, and new electrical materials and devices.

Taking the world-class electrical disciplines as a reference, the school has formed a scientific research structure coordinated with frontier exploration and application research and integrated with military and civilian technologies on the basis of maintaining the advantages of traditional disciplines, and has continuously emerged high-level scientific research achievements. In the past five years, the school has taken the lead in undertaking a number of key projects such as the 973 project, the National Key Research and Development Program of China, the ITER project, and Natural Science Foundation of China.

The school achieved the following major achievements:

Annual average research funding exceeds 200 million yuan

Obtained 5 European and American invention patents, more than 200 national invention patents in China

Published more than 600 SCI papers, including 22 ESI highly cited papers and 3 hot papers

Obtained 5 National Prizes for Progress in Science and Technology, including 1 first prize and 4 second prizes

Obtained more than 20 provincial and ministerial level science and technology awards
