The 5th Conference on National Fusion Plasma Diagnostics Technology Conference and the 4th East Lake Conference on Magnetic Confinement Fusion were held on the shore of East Lake in Wuhan, China，October 20th to 22nd, 2018. The conference was hosted by the International Joint Research Laboratory of Magnetic Confinement Fusion and Plasma Physics (IFPP) of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. More than 80 experts and scholars from Southwestern Institute of physics, the Institute of Plasma Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences, the University of Science and Technology of China, Peking University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Nanchang University, Soochow University, University of California, Davis and ENNGroup participated in the meeting.
The opening ceremony was held on the morning of October 20. Professor Liang Yunfeng, the director of the International Joint Research Laboratory of Magnetic Confinement Fusion and Plasma Physics (IFPP), gave an opening speech. He warmly welcome all experts and scholars to attend the meeting and said that they will work hard to organize this academic seminar on fusion plasma diagnostic technology and related physical issues organized by Chinese fusion community.
After the opening ceremony, the experts and scholars at the meeting gave a comprehensive and detailed report on the progress of their research in the fusion device, such as EAST, H-2A or J-TEXT and other related fields. The conference also included 5 half-day discussion sessions on microwave diagnosis, spectrum and imaging diagnosis, laser diagnosis, neutron diagnosis and related experimental research.
At noon on the 22nd, the meeting held a closing ceremony. The associate professor Yangzhou Jun of our school has expressed sincere respect to the experts and scholars at the conference and expressed sincere gratitude to the volunteers of the conference.
The articles in this conference will be included in the international journal "Plasma Science and Technology".
